resumes...

I was questioning whether or not to send in a resume with my application, so I sent an email to my regional admissions officer. I was all prepared to send mine in, when she replied with,
"We would actually prefer that you not submit a resume because they generally repeat information already found in the application and make it difficult for those of us reading the applications to pick out the items that are new. If you find that you can not fit all of your extracurricular activities in the space provided, I would suggest that you attach an additional sheet with the extra information in the same format we ask for in the application. "

I feel like my resume would add some more depth to my application, but I guess it is best to follow what the admissions officer said and just send in extra extracurriculars in the same format on another sheet. What is everyone else doing about resumes and such?

What type of format was she referring to? Can you post up a link, sorry.

I think shes referring to the format for extracurriculars on the application...

Did she mean the actual grid and boxes (with the number of years, positions, etc)?

Should we recreate a grid similar to that or can we also just list the activities with appropriate information in an orderly manner that is easy to read?

I think I'm going to recreat a grid like on the application, just because of the response I got from the admissions person
