I'm feeling quite overwhelmed right now. My parents gave me their tax documents and have told me that i'm to figure all of the financial aid applications out. I filled out the CSS profile and FAFSA and i'm working on preparing the IDOC packet now.

My parent's tax forms have a 2106-EZ which is the employee business expenses and then the 8283 which is one of the charitable contributions forms but I don't see a place on the IDOC form to send these so i just leave them alone?

Also, the non-tax filer's statement..i'm 18 but i did not work last year and I am dependent. Do I need to fill this out? Where do I find this?

What is the verification worksheet?

Thank you so much for answering.

That’s pretty unfair of your parents. Do they not want you to get financial aid for school? Do they not want you to go to college? Before you submit any info, find an adult who will help you. Are you sure your parents have given you all the info you need, like bank account balances as of today, asset info, etc.? If you leave anything out, it could come back to hurt you later. To expect you to understand complicated tax documents and information is expecting a lot. I don’t know what to tell you about the employee bus. expenses, and charitable contributions, except that most colleges would not care about what you give to charity, since that is a choice, and that money could be used for education instead, so you won’t get any financial break for giving money away. Business expenses usually just get added back as income for most schools anyway, so that also won’t help you get more aid. Please find a compassionate adult who is willing to help you in real life.
