…

What about financial aid do you find confusing?

My EFC is 500
So I should get everything in grants and loans minus 500.
But they ask me to pay $3800 on the top of my parents contribution $500.
I think it is something wrong.
I am not planing to go to UCD, but this FA is strange.

…
who else got $3800 to pay on the top of EFC

@seniorsfo:
i did, i have a $3800 self contribution and my EFC is 0. I really should have hit those scholarships =

That is because you are expected to get a job during the summer and/or during the school year.

But it is hard to find a job, which pays you $2000 a month.
If you find one, it is great. 2 summer months * 2 = $4000 - taxes = $3800
The next year you earn some income, so your Pell Grant will go down.
Only Work Study can help us (doesnt change your Pell Grant) , but UCD doesn’t give WS first year,

P.S. To earn $2000 a month (full time job) / 4 weeks / 40 hours a week = you need a job $12.50 an hour
In McDonald they pay you minimum wage (from $7.50 to 10.5 depends where you live.)
