confusion - a basic question on the application process

Hello CC,

All this time, I thought the college application process only consisted of the application portion, then CSS profile (if required), the IDOC (if required) that follows, and filling out FAFSA.

But apparently that's not the end of it, is it? Some schools are asking me to fax federal tax documents and other such forms.

Well, no such email was sent requesting one (except one from USC), so for other schools I had to hunt for more financial aid information, only to find that some asked for these forms and some had no information on it whatsoever.

So to be clear, is this something that -all- schools require, or some?

If this is a noobish question, I apologize, but it's better to be safe than sorry! (:

Thanks!

After you send in the CSS, some, but not all, may ask you to submit additional documents. Also, with the FAFSA, a percentage of applicants will be selected for verification and may be asked to submit additional items.
