I already filled out the FAFSA and submitted it to 6 of the colleges I'm applying to. Also, I send out the CSS Profile to the college that needed it. So is that it? My mom have 1040 form. So do we need to photocopy it and mail it to the colleges after sending CSS Profile and FAFSA?

Drewhistle,
I believe most schools that use CSS Profile also used the IDOC service - I think after you do Profile there should be instructions on which schools require which documents(1040, W-2's, etc) & how to use IDOC. If the schools you're applying to use IDOC you'll just send the 1040 and other required documents to IDOC once and they'll make them available to the schools you're applying to. Last year one of the schools my son applied to did not use IDOC and I had to mail our tax and income stuff directly to the school but the others all used the IDOC service. I think you should also be able to check the colleges' websites for finaid and hopefully it will tell you if you will use the IDOC or send copies of the 1040, etc, directly to the school's finaid office. Hope that helps.

Check the college finaid websites. They will tell you what to do about the tax returns. Some schools require signed returns to be submitted, and others do not. Some use IDOC and some do not. Some require forms be sent before you are accepted, some do not. It's a mixed bag and the only way to know is to check each college. It is very likely that the requirements will be different. But congratulations on getting all the forms completed!!!
