Congratulations Class of 2013!

Congratulations to all the students who were admitted to Wooster as a member of the Class of 2013!

We have a fellow CCr who's daughter was admitted and will attend next year as a Neurology major, Rachacha. Please congratulate them :)

Thanks Laura! I will be checking the board here often - Laura is such a great student resource! Parents of rising seniors - feel free to ask questions about the admissions process at Wooster, especially the scholarship programs (my D received a VERY generous College Scholar award). Everyone there is great!

I know of at least one other CCer who has a Class of 2013 member - any others out there feel free to join in, and congrats to all! August will be here before you know it!

Something I am curious about if Wooster stacks their merit awards. For instance, can a student receive a diversity scholarship on top of a merit scholarship?

susan,

that’s something you’d have to email/call the financial aid office about.

Laura,
You’re wonderful! I hope Wooster realizes what a very special ambassador you are for the school. My daughter, a rising senior, has had an unbelievably wonderful experience at Woo. I just returned from accompanying her on an eight-day trip to England, which Wooster helped subsidize (for her, not me!) through Copeland funding. She was researching her senior IS project, re: medieval pilgrimage from Winchester to Canterbury. Wooster may be the best, and most underrated college out there. My other daughter attends a far more “selective” school, which has not been nearly as enriching (yet) as Woo.

We will be visiting Wooster with S this summer. I’m only sorry our visit can’t be during the school year so we could see the Pipe Band!

Rachacha – do you mind if I ask what your D’s stats were that earned her the generous scholarship?

Laura, thanks for your input here – I have enjoyed reading your informative posts. I don’t know if this has been covered here previously, but do you have any info. concerning substance-free housing? Is it popular? Are there sub-free floors in a variety of dorms? Thanks!

Hi - just checking in and saw this new thread. I"m the other CC’er that Rachacha referred to in the post above. My son will be a freshman this fall at Woo. He also received a nice scholarship, not quite as nice as Rachacha’s d, but it helpful in the final decision.

He hopes to play tennis and play cello in the orchestra. He’s considering International Relations or History as a major. He requested Babcock (the international or cross cultural dorm) for his dorm but I’m wondering how difficult it is to get placed there as a freshman.

Hindoo, thanks for such a positive post about Wooster. What did your daughter major in? History? Her/your trip sounds wonderful.

My daughter is a rising junior at Wooster. She is a history major and is currently on a summer study program with Wooster in Sienna, Italy. She is having a wonderful trip. It is two class credits and is taught by one of the college’s history professors. Bengal Mom - Band camp starts mid-August and the pipers will be practicing. DD is one of the pipers :)

I am sorry we will miss them – we will be visiting in late July.

Suzukimomto2–My daughter is an archaeology major with a minor in art history.
