Was in A2 this past weekend for commencement exercises. Always great to be back. It's funny I have been back to Ann Arbor probably around 20 times since graduating 2 years ago and every time I go back it just makes me feel happy and at home. I can't describe that feeling.

To all the new Michigan alumni, congratulations! I hope you enjoy your day because this is not the end, but rather the beginning.

If you are headed off to a great career, please remember to always push for Michigan grads when it comes to recruiting (reasonably of course). This is particularly important if you are headed to a field that have strong preference for graduates from only the very top schools, like high finance or silicon valley. We have tried to do so for you, now it is particularly important that you do so as well to help maintain michigan's presence in these fields. It's one of the things that separate us from the lesser schools: the fact that we send grads in droves to the hedge funds, the bulge brackets, the M/B/Bs, the DRW, the Optiver, the facebook, the google, the amazon, the exxon, the shell of the world (forgive me if I forgot to cover your firm). This doesn't just come naturally (obviously the school's reputation helps a lot), but it was the hard work of the michigan grads that came before us, who helped put us on the map.

Again, congratulations.
