Congratulations to Class of 2009

As the parent of a Williams sophomore, I'd like to congratulate all you kids who are heading to Williamstown in September. You're going to love it! I've visited my son there several times over the past year and a half and I can say that his classmates are happy, brilliant, energetic, talented and warm and friendly people who are blessed to be in a profoundly beautiful environment. First year is demanding academically but you'll get a lot of support from your professors and friends. Be ready for your brains to explode with intellectual stimulus. Be ready to push yourself physically as well as mentally as Williams kids are doers. If you're not coming from a cold weather climate, get prepared, but don't worry: the kids have fun in all weather. So relax and enjoy your holidays with your families. Finish highschool on an upnote. You've made a wonderful choice!

As a poor international student, who couldn't dream about top education in the USA, I feel extremley blessed to be offered a chance to go to Williams. I am very confident that the college will exceed my wildest expectation =).

i understand! sort of. i am a too-poor-to-pay-for-williams-type-schools girl and i was so excited when i got accepted ED. when i was reading the deferrals posts i was surprised. some of those kids had better scores than i did. maybe it was essays. i dont know. but i dont do all that many extracurriculars. im in student council and varsity sports and choir and such...but i dont do 300 things a week. i dont know, i am just thrilled to have gotten in. i hope it all turns out to be as good as it seems
