Hey I just got my ED acceptance letter today. I'm sooooooo excited. I'm from Potomac, Maryland. Please post your decision and location.

Congratulations, Skyler.

It's months to go, but when you get one of the info packets from Smith that has your e-mail and campus extension, I can point you where to go to find out what House you're in from the extension.

Btw, if you have questions about Houses and different parts of campus, don't clutter up this thread but feel free to start another. Smithies are coming up on finals right now but they'll be able to respond next week and meanwhile a few parents might be able to provide background.

skyler...congratulations !!!!
What wonderful news for you and your family. Now you can take a deep breath and truly enjoy the rest of your senior year.

Hey!! I got my acceptance letter today too!! I'm thrilled!!!! I am from Bethany, CT which is near New Haven!

i must say, ED acceptance feels like a million dollars, especially because it's to smith. congrats to us all. :)

Congrats to you all that have gotten your letters. Out here on the west coast we are waiting to hear from two friends who applied ED, so we still have our fingers crossed for them. I just talked to my D who starts finals tomorrow, it seems that her house has gone into a baking frenzy (comfort food) as a way to deal with finals stress. You too will be there next year.

Congrats to all the acceptees! My daughter was accepted yesterday and she is thrilled! I am so proud of her hard work and achievement. I attended Amherst so I knew students at Smith. I also have had the pleasure of working with a number of Smith alums professionally. They invariably have spoken about the positive impact Smith had on them during a critical formative period in their lives. As a parent, I appreciated the insights from The Dad and Mini on their daughters' applications and experiences at Smith.

Congratulations, firelu, cobby, and pmyen's D!!!

Now may not be the best time to talk to D about Smith...her take-home Math final took 12 hours. :( But other than wobbling at the knees with finals and papers, it's been great. From the reports she's given me of first semester, I'd say definitely not a school for slackers. What's neat is that the students really seem to enjoy their classes...one of her classes came up with a class t-shirt with quotes from/about each of them.

I hope all the ED acceptees enjoys Smith as much as she has. Anyone from SoCal?

Get ready - in only 45 minutes, 10 p.m. Eastern Time - Smith has its bi-annual "Primal Scream". All students empty out of their houses, and do it! The whole town of Northampton has been alerted.

I'm sure they'd welcome participation by all ED admits.

Congratulations to all you 09 Smithies !!!
Even during finals my daughter absolutely loves it there.

welcome, new smithies! I have to say, though, hearing "Class of 2009" makes me feel ancient.

feel free to post tons of questions, even if they might seem minor (when I was applying to college, my parents' biggest criteria was whether the dorms had good smoke detectors...the answer at Smith, on the off chance that it is a concern of you and your parents, is yes, there are extremely sensitive ones in all houses).

Congrats and welcome new Smithies!
I also applied ED [well, EDII, but you get the idea], so I know the feeling of getting that thick envelope early :D
And yes, ask away!

Congrats to all!

What are all of your stats???

I applied RD so I've got a LONG time to wait.
