Just thought some people might want to know, if you get accepted EA, you get a phone call of congratulations from a Georgetown student. They're putting up flyers on campus to recruit people (I think I may give it a try for at least one night), and judging by those posters, phone calls will occur at the following times:

[ul][]Monday, December 15, 6-9pm EST[]Tuesday, December 16 6-9pm EST[li]Wednesday, December 17, 7-10pm EST[/ul][/li]I just thought people might want to know. If you want to find out by envelope for instance, you may want to avoid answering the phone (or get caller ID) at those times. Conversely, if you have questions for current students, or are itching for your decision, you may want to try to be available at those times. I personally don't know the details about who gets called when, in what order, if we try back again, etc. But Mario might know more.

I used to do those phone calls and they were so much fun. One time, I got a mom and her daughter was still at sports practice so she hadn’t opened her envelope yet and the mom had been staring at it four the last five hours trying to hold it up to the light to see what it said. And of course, because it was so thin she thought her daughter was rejected, which would have been devestating since it was her dream school. When I told her that her daughter had gotten in she literally started sobbing and screaming on the phone. It was like the coolest thing.

kmj, the caller is supposed to leave a message. If they didn’t, and you particularly want to talk with a georgetown student, you can call the GAAP office at 202-687-9481. Or PM me if you want.

they’ll prob call again… plus you got in, gotta play hard to get… Georgetown is trying to get you to come now, not you trying to get in… you gotta savor the moment… I know I did…

I got a call! The student was really funny and helpful (he was a member of one of the coed acapella groups and he was a sophomore of the SFS?). This makes me even more excited. =]

She was a freshman student from Texas (I’m from TX) and she told me about DC and how much she just loves it there.

I was jumping up and down and was pretty much breathless while I was talking to her. Then my cordless phone ran out of battery! I almost died, but I ran to my other phone and she was still there :)
