I just heard from a student who currently attends Georgetown that she got her EA decision by phone, instead of the standard mail. Any one can confirm???

Last year, some people got phone calls congratulating them on getting accepted before they received their mail (which shouldn’t have happened!), so technically I guess they were informed by their EA decisions by phone. However, the staff at georgetown tries to plan the phonecalls so that you will receive it the day after you receive your acceptance letters-- but mailing is weird so i guess sometimes the timing is off, lol! :p

ooooh! thank you!! (:

do all decisions come in the mail? they don’t have electronic notifications?

My son’s official notification for Georgetown came snail mail, nothing came via e-mail. I believe this was the same for both EA and RD notifications last year. It was one standard size business envelope with only two sheets of paper. You’ll get the acceptance packet with the financial aid info. (among a ton of other stuff) a little after you receive your letter.

There is a group of GAAP student volunteers (Georgetown Admissions Ambassador Program) who will call congratulating accepted EA students and welcome them to the Georgetown community. It should happen after they receive their letter though…and, depending on the number of student volunteers, time, etc. you may or may not get the phone call.

international applicants will get their decision results through email, not snail mail, because that would just take forever… otherwise everyone in the us should plan on getting theirs by usps! haha :)

Georgetown takes tradition very seriously. :D
