Hello all,

This question is particularly directed to ADMISSIONS OFFICERS, however I would like everyone's opinion.

Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) is a 10/11 month FULL SCHOLARSHIP exchange program to Germany, funded by the U.S. Congress and German Bundestag. 250 students are selected from the entire United States, and are placed in a German High School. Most students also become fluent in German by the end of the program.

Thank you.

Not an admissions officer, but don’t do it for purposes of beefing up your resume. Do it because you think it’s a fantastic opportunity that would interest you - and if you don’t, then don’t.

You should post this on the study abroad forum but I agree with the last poster - It is a terrific opportunity. If you don’t want it except to boost your application, let someone else who really wants to experience the German culture have that opportunity. Truly, a high school exchange is much more in depth than any college study abroad program because you will live with a host family and attend school with native students. You don’t get that chance again in later life. It may affect your life more than any college choice ever will.

a 10 is to cure cancer
a 9 is RSI
This is not so bad, I’d give it a 7-8.

BUMP!!

Need more advice people! Will it BOOST MY UNIQUENESS?

A bit. But if that’s the only you do, Harvard’s not going to accept you.

Can’t comment on the uniqueness but I’m interested in how the application process went. DD wants to do it after she graduates next year. I know she’d do it just because she wants the experience. If it helps her college applications that’s a bonus
