My D is being recruited here. We went on a tour and info session and talked with the coach. My D and I were very surprised about the quality of the facilities and education. However, even with CELS and the intern grant program, I am worried about her prospects for emplioyment when she is done (considering I never heard of this LAC before we heard from the coach)
Using SAT scores as a rough indicator of academic quality, it can be useful to compare Conn to a school that you might feel has more name recognition. Looking, as an example, at the University of Florida, you can see that Conn’s SAT scores are listed as 60 points higher on a 1600 point scale. (An adjustment of 25-75 points may be needed because Conn is test-optional.) I don’t know much about U of F, but I would think their graduates are finding employment after college. So I’d have to think the same is true for Connecticut College graduates.
Lastly, I’d give substantial weight to the good impression you have already personally formed after having visited Conn.
