So, I selected that I would be applying for need-based financial aid this year for every school I applied to. However, if I don’t get financial aid, it’s not an issue, my family can definitely afford tuition. I just thought “why not?”. But now there are a bunch of schools where I totally missed the deadline to submit financial aid applications, and I probably just won’t get around to doing them. The fact that I completely neglected to fill out some financial aid applications- could that affect my chances of admission to the school? All I’m worried about is that they’ll say “Wow, this student couldn’t even submit her CSS on time, lets not admit her”. Am I being irrational or is this actually an issue??
None of that is important. Financial aid and admissions don’t spend a lot of time gossiping about applicants to each other apparently, and the fact that you don’t need financial aid can’t possibly hurt you. (I mean, it’s not like the admissions committee is worrying that the college will have too much extra revenue lying around…)
Or if you aren’t going to complete the forms, tell them that you are no longer interested and then the FA office won’t hold up your application waiting for forms.
