What happens if you don't submit FA papers by the deadline?

Just wondering, if you stated on your application that you would need financial aid, but you never submit the required paperwork such as CSS Profile or FAFSA, what would be the consequences? Will they not give you an admission decision, ,or will they give you one without a financial aid package? Or will they just outright reject you? I'm talking about top private and selective colleges that guarantee to meet 100% of need. Thanks in advance!

Your application for admission is NOT dependent on your application for financial aid. If you never submit an application for need based aid, you simply won’t get a need based aid award. You could get admitted, but without financial aid.

If you miss the deadlines and DO intend to apply for financial aid, you run the risk of a decreased amount of institutional aid and the likelihood that you will not have a financial aid award by the time you need to make your college choice.

So…for admissions purposes, your financial aid application won’t matter. You can get accepted without applying for aid…but you won’t get aid if you don’t apply for it!

For financial aid purposes, do NOT miss the deadline if you intend to apply for need based financial aid. Colleges have these deadlines for a reason.
