A lot of people say that going through the BFA in Acting allows you to have "Connections" to the entertainment industry. Do you really need a four year degree in Acting to have those connections? What if I minored in Theatre? Am I still able to have connections as such if I'm surrounded by the Theatre a lot? What kind of connections? I'm still debating if I should go for the BFA or just minor. THANKSABUNCH. :D

“Connections” are made when you meet people in the industry or classmates who may eventually get into the industry. They are only worthwhile connections if you have made a positive impression on those people so that they would want to work with you and bring you on-board for a project in the future.

If as a theatre minor you have the chance to work with or learn from people who may think you have talent, then it will not matter whether you are a theatre major or minor. Often, however, the chance to be cast in school productions or form relationships with professors will increase if you are a theatre major. More opportunity will equal more ways to make these connections.

Basically the programs in the major markets (New York, Chicago and LA) and have the faculty who has been in the business and continues to work.
