if app was about an hour late, will dartmouth accept it?

mine was 5 HOURS LATE! you’re not as screwed as i am… lol.

five hours? how did that happen (maybe you live in hawaii)?
But aaahhh I am in the same boat, dartmouth is my top choice and, since i didnt even think about it before hand, I submitted common app before 12 west coast time, not realizing it is due ET!

I have done a lottt of thread reading, however, and I think we are fine. (relief)
I read a post (although a year old…) and the person said that he had heard from the very dean of dartmouth admissions that it was really no big deal to submit even a few days late.

Seems like so many of us in different time zones have made the mistake, and (these are my thoughts) while the schools are not going to SAY anywhere online that they do deadline extensions or are aware of time zone differneces, i would ASSUME that it is such a common occurence that they must have a grace period…

let me know if anyone agrees or has heard the same things i have… :/

I would have thought the time zone thing would have become a horror story of college applications for HS seniors if it really were that big of an issue.

The Dartmouth live presentation that the admissions counselors at Dartmouth did a couple weeks ago included a part about late applications. They said that as long as you submitted it reasonably close to the deadline (i.e. not several days later) you’d be fine.

Thank you very much ^^
Funny how I couldn’t find a post affirming this until an hour AFTER I started freaking out…lol

And it is true, i got email confirmations from all colleges i applied to last night and they received my late (west coast time still early) applications just fine
