Hi,
So in my English class my teacher is having us answer college application essay questions and I was wondering if schools like CCPA, Boston conservatory, or any school with a separate application for performing arts, had special essay questions. Is there a website I can look them up on or could you put some examples? Thank you
Look on the school’s website under admissions and/or the specific department or program and check.
Yes, I do recall several did have essay questions. I recall that for Boston Conservatory one of the essay questions was asking the applicant to discuss the most meaningful and memorable performance experience they had, either as a participant or observer and why it was it had impacted them in a lasting way.I remember at least one or two that asked the applicant to write about a specific individual who had the most impact on the student as a performer - decision to become a performer, teacher, mentor, etc and why that person had such an influence. Others asked the applicant to discuss specifically why they were interested in their specific program and what they felt they could gain from the program and what they felt they could bring to the program. It’s likely too early yet for the essays for next year to be posted, but this should give you an idea of what you might write about for your English essay.
My D had one from NYU on the role of art in the world
CCPA, UArts and Emerson all definitely had essays. What they were… good question. I think I have them on my work computer. I’ll take a look tomorrow.
