I know it is a bit away (admission in 2012), but I am considering Texas for its Accounting major. Can anyone tell me, do you get directly admitted into the Business school as a freshman? I want a large school and will be coming a long distance -- I know the Accounting program is ranked high nationally, and what I have read the UT experience seems like a good fit.

If accounting is where you want to be, the only hurdle you have to jump is getting accepted into McCombs when you apply this Fall/Winter. Once you’re in, you’ll take some basic introductory classes then choose your exact major within business sophomore year. And by ranked highly, I hope you realize that means #1.

Caveat: I’m not a business major. Someone else should confirm for 100% certainty.
