fux i put Classical Civilization as my backup for other schools, but Berkeley doesnt allow an alt major!

@Solid I just read your insult edit. Nice. :)

I got my information from the link @Hadrian posted. I would have loved to go to Berkeley–but I just didn’t have a competitive enough GPA as an Anthropology major.

The hardest major to get into is the Haas School of Business, which I think has a 6% acceptance rate. LOL

Current School(s): Pierce College
Major: Sociology
College GPA: 3.6
IGETC/Major Preps: Both done by Spring, 4.0 in my major preps
ECs: tutoring, clubs, volunteer work, …
Will be TAP certified by end of Spring
Essays: I thought they were pretty good

Got in sd, sb, irvine. but UCLA?? =] I would appreciate your opinions

@solidblu-- a 3.8 is above the average so I’d say you have a definite shot. Good luck to you!

Current School: UC Irvine

I’ve done Extensive Volunteer-work throughout High School (They allowed you to list this on the application, but I don’t know how much they care about it)

Work: Internet Marketing and Sales position at a Small Business for ~4.2 years (2006-present, 12 hours a week)…grew the business by over 30% in terms of profits.

Prereqs: All Done.

I appreciate all replies!! :)

Any input is greatly appreciated!=]

@ sandaboy and bearhopeful: You guys are both in.

sandaboy, you may be a slight slight reach because you’re a UC-UC transfer, but I still think with your work experience and prereqs done, you should very likely be good to go.

bearhopeful–that is definitely competitive enough for a Berkeley Anthropology major. I’d say you’re in at Berkeley for sure, I’d be surprised if you weren’t.

Thanks to both of you for the support during this agonizing wait. I have already bored everyone around me, having nothing better to talk about than this. =

@bearhopeful, I know what you mean! I’m done waiting, but I’m truly interested in WHO will actually get in on this site!

I’m rooting for you to be one of them!

Thanks emil!

UC Berkeley Haas Business

Major:Bussiness Admin

GPA:4.0 (3.8 including non transferable courses)
Prereqs:All completed
Extra Circulars:Traded Stocks since senior year in high school. Started trading futures in the beginning of my freshman year of my CC. Trying to join honors society if that even helps.
Work:Intern at a Hedge Fund. No community service hours

Will it hurt me if i dont have ANY community service hours? I think my ECs are more than enough considering it is relative to my field of interest.

Thanks

talebi–I don’t see why you wouldn’t be in. The Haas Business school is by far the most competitive major at Berkeley–but you look like you have a very decent shot.

I don’t see why lack of community service hours would affect you.

@AGR1010

Thanks, iv posted on chance threads and you are the first and only person to ever respond to my chance so i thank you for that.

I guess the paranoia will keep me from slacking off and help me work harder

thanks again.
