Yeah they did. MIT dropped, NW dropped, Uchic dropped, WUSTL is ahead of NW, Umich dropped, UCB gained a spot.

I am awaiting some sort of 'CalTechvsMIT-related' vituperation:D

I did the top 10 lacs. Colby is 20

oh. wow. yeah i guess it did change...

i thought stanford would be ahead of penn, and MIT ahead of Duke, because Penn had a lower proportional increase in apps than Stanford for 08

oh well. turns out my predictions were totally incorrect

Yes, I broke it a few years ago too. Just luck.

oh well. turns out the predictions that actually used common data sets were still wrong. It was predicted to be like Harv, Stanford, Pton, Yale, Penn, MIT, CIT, Duke, Columbia, or something like that. I'll go check sometime

These are the claimed 2006 rankings.

What I find hardest to believe is that last year H & P had 100 points and Yale had 99.

This year, reportedly, H & P still have 100 and Y drops to 98. I was quite sure that Yale's rise in selectivity and Princeton's decline (for the class of 2008) would allow Yale to tie or surpass Princeton this year.

I guess we'll have to look at all the numbers.

ANSWER TO POSTER BELOW:

100,100, 98, 95, 94,94, 93, 93 89, 89

Byerly, do you know the points for the other schools in the top 10?

Please post the lac list.

Barrons, could you list the top 20 LACs with their rankings so that we know where the ties were? Or if you don't want to spend so much time, could you tell me what Smith, Grinnell, and Wesleyan's rankings are? Thanks.

Could someone post the top 50 in numerical fashion? I don't get Barron's /'s. They make it kind of confusing.

PS--No I did not steal it jerk. 9.95 plus tax.

LAC's--I hate LAC's

Will, Amh, Swat, Welles, Carl, Bowd/Pomo, Hav/Midd, Claremont Mac/David, Wes, Vass, W lee, Colgate/Grinn/Ham, Mudd, Smith, Colby

/=tied................

Uh, all you people who are whining about how "it didn't change omgz" do realize that a legitimate ranking of colleges would fluctuate little from year to year? Part of the reason why USNews is so maligned is that they fiddle with the formula so often just for the sole purpose of making the rankings change to sell more copies to people like you.

UG business

Top 15 B schools

Penn, MIT, UCB/um, CMU/NYU/UNC/UT, USC/UVa, IU, Uwis/Corn/PU/UiUC/UMINN/WASHu

That's a good point.

This is based on PRELIMINARY data. The user barrons posted a very quick list of 22-50 in a grouped format but without ranking numbers, so I had to re-edit his list with numbers and modify it into my format, SO THERE PROBABLY ARE ERRORS. I also very quickly computed all of the rank changes in colleges, SO THERE WILL PROBABLY BE MORE ERRORS.

THIS IS FOR FUN, DON'T TAKE THIS POST TOO SERIOUSLY.

I'm beginning to think that USNEWS puts certain schools in controversial spots just to generate commotion. MIT is severely underranked, whereas Penn and Duke are overrated.
