Consolidated thread about leaked US News 2006 Rankings

Glad to know that.

Who cares? This is like the only exciting event on CC other than when the RD and ED results come out.

this is such a boring ranking year. its pretty much the same,

"What I find hardest to believe is that last year H & P had 100 points and Yale had 99.

This year, reportedly, H & P still have 100 and Y drops to 98. I was quite sure that Yale's rise in selectivity and Princeton's decline (for the class of 2008) would allow Yale to tie or surpass Princeton this year."

Someone told me that selectivity was going to be dropped by US News this year as a factor in the rankings. I don't know if it's true though. That would explain why Princeton is still higher than Yale.

The top is always boring. The interesting changes happen starting with 25+.

And so we have our first preliminary round of gaming. We have all waited for this and the moment is here.

what do you mean by that hazmat

I think they dropped yield not selectivity

lol yeah this is like our Rose Bowl

Folks on CC wait for this as you said. Scrutinize the numbers, share personal factual stories that undue or support the stats reported. Speculate why this/that changed. It is a good time. Next big event is mid Dec and that is not quite as much "fun" because real students are here with real parents and people are more careful because feelings are raw. This ranking and the discussion is much more fun.

NOTE: Remember which year these stats are from!!

do you have the top 50 LACs?

Publics:

Berk

UVA

Mich/UCLA

Its completely obvious that schools don't change that much in the course of a year

however, usually the rankings do change a lot from year to year, and this year they didn't.

thats why its a tad suprising

top 50 LACs?

barron's:

you have listed UCSD twice in post #53 (first line and last line)....which is the typo?

"31 William & Mary Univeristy 0"

Wow, so they are a University now, LOL.

1 williams
50 Depauw/Sarah

Sorry, but I only have the top 20. This info is from barrons.

Sorry, barrons posted the list in all abbreviations, so I had to fill in the full names. My edit time is expired, so you'll have to pardon the errors :)
