Contact with admisions..

Hey,

Does anyone here know how much, if at all, having contact with admisions helps?

I have been in contact with the admission counselor who will be reviewing my application for a few months now. We have talked back and forth through E-mail and he recommended some colleges I apply to and even referred me to an officer at the college he used to work for.

I have strongly expressed to him how much I would like to be there and that NU is my first choice.

I am very nervous about being excepted, my stats are a tad below average for NU

GPA: W 3.55
SAT: 1290/1910

Thanks!

Hmmm. I haven’t heard of an admissions counselor referring students to other schools. I am a little surprised as your stats aren’t that far off. Maybe he is just trying to give you some ideas to make sure you didn’t apply to only one school.

I think it is a good idea to let them know that it is your first choice , but keep the options open for other schools as well. Also, which school are you applying to ?

The reason he told me to apply to another school is because I told him I applied to only 2 other schools and got denied from both ( penn state and maryland)

you shouldn’t have told him that especially after you told him that NU was your first choice
now it just seems like northeastern’s your third choice

You’re fine. Those stats are more than good enough for Northeastern.
