Contacting admissions officer - good idea?

Columbia is my number one, my dream school, you know the deal. I was wondering if it's considered "pushy" or annoying or what to email one's admissions officer? Just to express interest and passion in the school, to show that I truly would love to attend, that my application wasn't just a carbon copy that I sent to twenty other schools.

I actually already did send her an email a few weeks ago... had a mini panic attack (long-ish story), and she was incredibly kind and reassuring about my ordeal. :')

As they're going through the apps, I'd like to stay relevant in their minds, so would it be bad to follow up?

PS - When do they actually finish reviewing applications?

I think that before you send in your applications, contacting admission officers are important, and sending in sophisticated questinos are advised. But at this point, I really don’t think it would make a difference, considering hwo they’re probably answer thousands of emails every day and spending hours reviewing applications. Won’t hurt though. And welcome to college confidential lolz

lmao ~thankies for the welcome~, I’ve been lurking forevz though.

Jealous that you’re already accepted…
