I’m currently in the process of applying to BS. This morning, I got an email from a coach from one of the BS asking about why I’m interested in the sport, times, types of training etc etc. I’m not AMAZING at my sport; maybe JV or even freshman level. Is it still worth telling them my times and such?
Yes. Even if you are not going to get any admissions help from the coach, it would be unwise not to engage. Which of these would you rather he communicated to admissions? “I contacted the applicant you referred to me and they never responded.” or “I contacted the applicant you referred to me. We had a nice exchange, and while they probably won’t make varsity, they seemed polite and engaged and the kind of student we like.”
Agree with above advice from @gardenstategal . Respond to the coaches and engage in a meaningful conversation and/or visit (if you are going to interview on campus). Be sure to make arrangements in advance. Keep in touch with the coaches. Good luck!
