I recently talked to a college counselor in my school, and he told me that some colleges really look kindly upon students that really express "an interest in their school", that really want to go and will do anything to get in. He encouraged me to call the school (Notre Dame) and to talk to an admissions person. What im wondering, is, what would i say. I dont want to sound desparate or whiney, or to annoy them? Has anyone done this? What should I be talking about? I just really dont want to annoy them, because they must be busy people. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer, at all.

Of all the adcoms I've called, the Notre Dame admissions officer was the most personable and enthusiastic one. The hospitality of my regional rep is actually one of the main reasons I'm serious about applying to Notre Dame. I get in touch with her every now and then and ask her some specific questions and tell her why I'm interested in ND. She's coming to my town next week, so I emailed her saying, I'm looking forward to meeting you, blah blah, so that she'll recognize me at the presentation.

buuuump bump bump

BUMP! I was told to do the same for a few colleges as well. To call up the school and as to speak to admissions rep or head of a department. What to say to them ...?
