Contacting Admission Reps?

Hi I am a junior in high school and I am really interested in going to Notre Dame. My parents have been encouraging me to contact the admissions officer from my area, to both ask questions and to just to get my name out there and somewhere in the back of their head. Is this considered annoying and desperate from the admissions officers point of view or a suitable way of showing interest? Thank you!

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with contacting your local admissions officer to show interest, inquire about the school, or ask about any Notre Dame sponsored events in your area. You can call the Notre Dame undergraduate admissions office to get his/her email or phone number. It sounds like a good way to find out more about the school and the admissions process. I’m sure they’d appreciate your interest.

They would appreciate your interests but don’t call just to ingratiate yourself w/questions that can easily be found on the website. Show interest: yes, be an annoying stalker: no.

You can simply throw them an e-mail.

If you have questions that you can’t answer on their website, definitely shoot an email. But make sure it’s not terribly transparent (“I was just wondering if you take AP credit”). You can always ask to be put into contact wiht a current student as well.

You can contact the admission officer and it’s alright for them. I’ve been doing that.
