Contacting the Admissions Officer

I have some updates to my application, namely becoming a National Merit Finalist, and was wondering where I could find the e-mail for my admissions officer. I've found a phone number but it seems like an e-mail would be more appropriate. Thanks.

Email undergrad-admissions@duke.edu and they will forward your email to the appropriate person. I hope this helps.

It does, but I was thinking there was a way to directly contact my regional officer. Or is it better to just send it directly to admissions?

No, they don't have a regional officer's mail address anywhere.

Is it not true that 99% of all NMsemiF's become NMF's? In which case, assuming they know you were an NMSF, they probably assume you completed the paper work and became an NMF.

It's a high percentage but I called Columbia to schedule a tour and while on the phone they said you should still contact all of your schools to let them know.

I guess so (and you should probably do it if Columbia commanded you), but, let's think about this.....they are completely SWAMPED right now and presumably pretty close to finalizing decisions (e.g. news on the WUSTL board is releasing decisions this Friday(!)). I would say don't bother, but, eh, what do I know?

well if it's any help, you can try using the standard format for a majority of Duke email addresses:

firstname.lastname@duke.edu

My daughter notified Duke of this as well as all of her schools and she got a nice email reply telling her they would add this to her file. They really don't mind hearing from you especially over something like this. For those schools that give NM money, it is essential that the school knows this otherwise you can miss out on some $$ depending on the school.
Go for it
