Convincing a teacher to bump your grade up when you are .2 away from getting an A

wow lucky you. wish my teachers were like that.

Honestly, there’s nothing you can do now. You should have worked harder during the semester, not the week before grades are due.

Professors in college will not bump up your grade because you’re close, just as in a job the boss is not going to give you a raise just because you almost closed a big deal.

You are getting what you earned.

yeah but this isnt the real world fortunately…and i want to be able to “enjoy” the favors like that while i can…if it even works out for me

Is this some type of fantasy world? Since when is school not real?

Ugh. Dude, this is exactly what is happening to me in one class. Today, I turned in an essay 30 minutes late (I left it at home, had to go get it). My teacher, a very stubborn, ignorant man, says “too late.”
I’m like…**? 30 minutes? He even stamped my rough draft too. Now, he’s giving me a 0 out of 50 points. Just cause I did it, and turned it in 30 minutes late. ?
So I had a 95%, this will probably drop my grade down to an 88-89%.
And he does not round. You need 90% for an A-. Now, I actually have to do good on my final project. I’m cutting it sooo close…

I know how you feel. :frowning: I’m missing mine by like 0.1% too.

This, verbatim. =/

i know this has nothing to do with what you guys are talking about, but im new to this site and dont know how to start a thread yet. im about to start my first year of high school. In my eighth grade year I was taking a math class for college credit. In the first semester I had an a, but in the second semester I messed up and got a C. My goal is to get to an Ivy league school. My parents started to look for ways to fix this. For some reason the universe always smiles on me and I caught a break. If I went to a diiferent high school then my grade would just show up as a p for passing. I was happy but I honestly do not want to go here. At my previous school I was very well liked, and all of those kids move to the same high school with a few that transfer. I understand that most of you will be like duh go to the school that gave you a brake, but alot of high school is being happy and I really want to go through high school with these kids. I grew up with them and I honestly consider some of them brothers. I dont want to miss out on that with them but I also want to go to an Ivy league school. I try to talk to my parents but my dad just calls me a loser and my mom cares to much about my sister to listen. Please no one make any smug comments, I am sicerely looking for advice. Please someone answer, Michaelseen

Please take the time to learn how to make a new thread before reviving a really old one. I usually use the CC app, so I’m not very knowledgeable about the website, but there must be a button near the top of the page called “New Topic” or “New Thread” or something similar.

Personally, I would go to the high school that makes you happy. The top colleges won’t deny you for a C that you got in 8th grade, especially if you get mostly all A’s for future classes.

blast from the past

and yet i still can’t read your 'location"

I can understand how you might not know how to make a thread, but how do you not realize you just bumped a 3+ year old thread?
