cooking space

i heard there are kitchens in tom bradley international. can we rent those out for use?

Nobody checks to see who's using it, so it should be okay as long as you clean up after yourself. It's in the Multipurpose Room, 217.

Of course, there are people from De Neve/Dykstra usually studying in there, but it should be alright with them.

tom bradley international? isn't that at LAX?

he probably donated money there too, but that building is right next to de neve, at least at ucla, and they handle all the international students, and have some nice study rooms and offer cooking courses throughout the quarters too

and crossroads

oh cool I live in de neve so i might do some water boiling for noodles there :) anyone figure out how to make noodles with water in the foam cup in microwave? how long do you put?

just buy a water boiler...its like $10.

kickserve: 3 minutes.

is water boiler allowed in the dorms? :)... hmm i'll try 3 min then, 3min with water inside the foam cup?

i heard its not safe to microwave those kind of foam cups and its suggested you boil water and dump it in

yea thats what i heard too... not safe...

maybe microwave some water in something? lol

hmmm i've been microwaving the foam cups for years now, and seems to work well for me every time. just don't forget to put the water in first, hahah. seen it happen one too many times. and make sure you let the noodles absorb the water for long enough, makes them nice and thick.

now i'm hungry.

no water boilers arent allowed, but theyre small enough to be hidden almost anywhere when not in use. or even just leave it on the bathroom counter (for those in plazas) because they dont check the bathrooms during room inspections. :p

Go to J-town and buy a small one. You can make instant noodles instantly.

In any case, if you have a plastic camping mug type thing, put water in and wave it for 2 minutes and you have boiling water.
