Coral Towers

hi there,

I am a transfer who found out on NYUHOME that I got into (low-cost) Coral Towers as my housing assignment (choice floor) but the other alternative is Water street

I heard a lot of good things about Water, and I looked at NYU housing website and I felt Coral is more crappy than Water in terms of facilities, and the fact that I will live with more people (i try avoiding conflicts) ....

What can I do? Is Coral Towers that bad?

I had some friends stay in Coral Towers last summer. I actually really liked it. The location is pretty good (about two blocks from Union Square), and while it isn't the nicest NYU dorm, it certainly isn't the worst. The rooms are a little small, but other than that, I see nothing wrong with it. Water St is so far from campus, that I don't know if the size and "niceness" of the rooms makes up for that.

Hey Maggie, wondering where on NYUHome u found ur housing assignment??
I'm also a transfer who applied for choices am I'm dying to know where I'll be living!!

nyu home- albert- bursar- current activity

yeah, I applied for the choice floor, so I saw my assignment on the "current activity"

What can I find near Coral Towers? Are the stuff expensive near there?

I got Coral too, and I'm an incoming transfer. I did not request lowcost housing or whatever Choices means... does that mean I got both of those? Is everything in Coral low cost?

Hey, I posted saying I got Coral too and it says the price as 4792 or something. Is that what yours said? Is that how you know its low cost? Or would it actually say the words "low cost"? Thanks!

anyone there??

hi kimk,

I requested for a choice floor and asked for low-cost housing in the housing application .... i guess NYU combined both requests ... the 4792 is the lowest cost of a Coral Towers room ... not bad, but I am worrying if the room will be small and if the facilities will be crappy ...

kimk, which school are you transferring to?

Thanks maggie, I was just wondering how small my room would be, etc... but either way I'm happy i got coral. I'm transferring into steinhardt .. what school are you in?

I heard that water street has a spacious room ... and I worry if my room will have enough space for all my junk, and i am happy that I got Coral because of its cool location ...

I am transferring into Stern, kimk, what are you majoring in? when are you moving in? I am moving in on 8/28, maybe we can say hi to each other in New York!

mhm! i move in then too, along with everyone else at nyu
