Okay I'm starting to get a little worried. I still haven't recieved my housing assignment and I keep reading posts about transfers who got cliff st., coral towers, university court, etc. Does this mean that I was put at the end of the list or something and as a result will be assigned to, ohhh, I don't even want to say it (26th street)!?!?!?

So if your a transfer or you know a transfer who got their assignment please post here and tell me about it so I can drive myself crazy thinking about where I'm going to be living this fall.

Hey, I got mine for Coral Towers... I hear that's pretty random and rare for a sophomore transfer, but I'll take it because of its location. Did you try looking on the Bursar's Current Activity page? That's where I found mine.

hey justaphase! I'm right with you..university court. I'm ****ed too... I really think there is nothing we can do about it. Oh well. Supposedly you can call for a possible switch after school starts but that will involve first moving into your room and then all the difficulty of getting a new roommate and moving out again. Probably not worth it.

Ceruleanne, you're lucky. I'd love to have U. Court. At least it's all undergraduate. 26th is half graduate students, and the rest mostly sophomores. I did a facebook search on that dorm and it doesn't seem like a fun place to be.

I'm transferring into Stern. Are you a transfer student too?

hi! well that makes me feel better about my dorm anyway.... yes I am transferring into gallatin. My previous school was this tiny LAC called kenyon college. where are you coming from?
I'm really excited/kind of nervous. Are you on facebook?

i am a transfer student into stern and i am living in cliff st next year. any other transfers living there? i found out my housing by going to the bill in albert on home.nyu.edu

I heard cliff street rooms are really nice inside. Most ppl. would agree that out of all the transfer dorms cliff street is definitely one of the better ones (as far as rooms and space are concerned.) You lucked out:)

I still haven't recieved my assignment:( On albert my housing is still listed as "estimated charges." I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but I'm hoping for some good news soon. I put water street as my first choice even though it is the furthest away from campus. I just wanted to have a really nice room:) Greenwich was my second because of its location. But I haven't heard about anyone who got greenwich yet. What did everyone else choose?

Cliff St is amazing. My dorm room is huge and I have my own bathroom. If you can stand the distance from campus (which really isn't that bad) then you will love Cliff. St

No I will be a second semester Junior in the Fall. I transferred to NYU last fall and am so happy I did. Next year I am living in third north but it is safe to say that the rooms at Cliff st. are some of the nicest dorms in the nation. You can't really call them dorms because they really are apartments. Cliff St. and Water St. are luxury apartment buildings that NYU is leasing and using for housing. You'll have an actual kitchen with a great dishwasher freezer and fridge and tons of cabinet space. What's more, you'll have all the closet space you could need. 3 person rooms have 2 bathrooms and doubles have one.

Well I got my assignment yesterday and, of course, it was 26th street! Bastards. So, I'm considering looking for an apartment because everyone seems to agree that 26th street sucks real bad, but no one ever really explains why. I mean, what exactly about this dorm is sooo bad? Please be honest, because I am seriously considering getting an apartment. The only bad thing is that I'm pretty sure I'll have to live in an apartment for the next 2 years b/c once you cancel your housing your done. What would you do?

from what I hear about 26th street (i'm a transfer too, so I don't know firsthand) is just that the rooms are kinda ****tier, and its low cost. It must just be smaller than other dorms, but the location doesn't seem all that bad to me. It's near the medical and dental buildings.... so there might be a lot of premeds there, which is a plus I think. But anyway, if I were you I'd stick it out at 26th st because the housing lottery is a good fallback for the future, and you don't want to have to be stuck looking for apts for the next 2 years, thats a pain and probably more expensive. I'm in the same position as you though, not much information, but I'm not in 26th! I think it's what you make of it.

don't worry--i've heard it's not so bad. plus, how can everyone be telling you 26th street sucks? It's a tiny dorm. the only people that have said that to me haven't lived there. But I have spoken to two people that Do live there and they both had great times. I really think it's a bad idea to drop out of the lottery. It's only one year after all. I'll be right near you by the way--25th street, u-court

i will be transfering to stern next fall, and i was searching this website to find any useful information about housing for transfers. Since u have been in nyu for a year how did find it in general? do u have any advice for incoming transfers? and what housing do u recomend?
