<p>considering that medical schools are looking for diversity and accepting students with high gpas oustide of the science majors (like music and english majors), do you believe that attending a school with a core requiring classes in science math english philosophy theology art music etc. would be an advantage even though it may lower your gpa .1 or .2 pts taking courses you normally would not.</p>
<p>i think one of the main reasons y colleges accept HIGH gpa kids outside of science majors is that they essentially have to double major, they have to take the 8 required courses PLUS the courses in music, english, w/e. this is different to science majors, who have these classes built in to their schedules.</p>
<p>aright that makes some sense but doesnt quite answer the question. im more interested in whether a medical school will look at a student completing a core set of classes required by their undergrad school as a positive as opposed to why they accept non-science majors, which is the answer you gave me.</p>
