Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship

Nothin… fingers crossed!

it might come out at exactly 6:00 EST this year or something

or maybe it’s next week and we’re all worried for nothing

Anyone get anything yet?

nope

nothing yet

So… guess they won’t be coming out today then

Would they ever come out on a weekend or weekday - other than a Friday?

As far as I know, they haven’t for the past few years, so I guess we have to wait until next Friday.

Does the scholarship status also reflect in portal or just email notification

@AllenTx15 You’ll get a conspiculously titled email only.

@OHToCollege Although about 150 scholarships are awarded total, specific numbers are awarded by each of the four schools within Vanderbilt proportional to their enrollment. In fact, independent committees from each school award the scholarships; the admissions office simply forwards the sure-fire admits to these committees.

We are very excited to contact the scholarship recipients and welcome them to Vanderbilt. Good luck everyone!!

@1golfer1 Any chance you can give us a more specific timeframe for when we’ll be notified either way?

@velmah I cannot say exactly, but I do know decisions are currently being finalized.

A result of my unhealthy obsession with vandy

2009: 5th  Thursday
2010: 5th  Friday
2011: 7th  Monday
2012: 9th  Friday
2013: 5th  Tuesday
2014: 7th  Friday
2015: 6th  Friday
2016: 4th  Friday

Let’s hope
2017: 6th Monday?

Crossing our fingers! That is the only way our son can attend Vandy.

About 150 in years past, or appox 1% of all Vanderbilt applicants

I don’t know how the above post got , well, posted. I wasn’t even home at 9:51.
Good luck again to all

This made my day! Thank you!

@1golfer1 So does this indicate that all recipients are ED students or are there RD in there as well and admissions just decides on those early and advises the committees (but not the students until 4/1 when ED go out)?

@txborn I’m almost positive that RD applicants are eligible to receive it. If not, why would we even be allowed to apply? They probably have admissions screen the scholarship applicants first or something.

RD applicants were awarded Chancellor schollies a few weeks ago. Which meant that that those RD kids were also accepted in advance of the general RD decision release date. I’d guess that CV would work the same way.
