can you change your major before you enter cornell?
for instance, if i am transfer student that applied as a PAM major (HumEc) can i switch to a Bio and Society major (HumEc) for the upcoming fall semester?
if so, how?
thanks

I don't know how Cornell COE, USC and JHU rejects someone who got into UPenn

not to be rude, but Penn engineering is a lot easier than the other schools at penn to get into.

please no complaining about transfer housing, they stuck me in an all freshman dorm a million miles away from anything important (classes, etc.) when i transferred.

you'll live

is it really worth it??
i am accepted as a junior transfer for this fall
but now that i think about it... is it really worth to transfer?
i feel the transfer is going to be too much of a hassle... new place, new friends, etc
all the good classes have already been taken and/or full
and we will be stuck far away in the transfer apts
its also cold and far
also, i was thinking... i am a HD major... in order to take upper division HD classes or even 200 level... i have to complete HD 115
thus, the ONLY class i can take for my major for my first semester at cornell is HD 115....
am i wrong about what i have said? is it really worth it?......

thats how i felt, and thats why i dont think im going.

sexy, stop asking so many questions! lol i dont think u want to go to cornell, you have been asking about it since forever, like "do you think its worth it to waste 30 units, because if i go to cornell, 30 of my units wont transfer". No its not worth it, you are wasting a full year. You are going to a place that you are unsure of, where your units wont transfer, and where you will be in debt, and why should you risk it? This is only undergraduate school, worry about prestige for graduate. Although in the end, it doesnt matter where you go; what matters is what you do!

i wont be in debt if i go.. price is not an issue here
i wont lose 30... only 15... i checked... that's not so bad
isnt it better to go to a prestigious undergrad in order to get into a prestigious graduate?
its ivy league though... what about the CONNECTIONS i can make?
and its also a good opportunity to start fresh... no?

cause i also dont like my current school

15 units is still wasting a semester.

Connections can be made at any schools, really. If you are going to live near your hometown, it is best to go to a school near it so you can get local jobs.

start fresh? it would be good to start fresh as a freshman. Hence, the name freshman lol. However, transfers have it difficult. We are only there for a short period of time; friendships dont come easy, esp when everyone already established theirs. Adjusting to a different place is also not a welcoming experience, and you have to consider cornell's size. No one will be there to hold your hand.

the school is not going to totally dessert you...there is probably a transfer student dea...it is up top you to ask for help if you need it...you will make friends...you've already got people online that will be there when you are...my son's gf transferred in and made friends...if you are losing some credits you may be able to make them up over the winter break - there is a 3 week session, or next summer...talk to your advisor at Cornell...

any incoming transfers get their room assignment?
where are you living?

on the housing website it says my room is HSBK 0902A-2
is that a single or double?
how can i tell?
thanks!

I know that everyone is complaining about the financial aid and someone mentioned the two profiles they were sent. Would anyone mind posting these for those who plan to apply next year?

thanks

If i am trying to transfer at the end of 2008 spring semester and apply for cornell 2008 fall semester, do 2008 spring semester coureses(probably will be taking the courses while sending out the applications in current college) count towards my GPA?

and do the colleges look at the GPA that includes 2008 spring semester grades??

they will ask for a mid-term report from all your professors. The grades will only count on your current schools GPA

does cornell have a nearby hospital or something for premed students to volunteer in and stuff....

for orientation... do parents stay for two days?
they need to reserve a hotel?
