Cornell AEM vs. UVa McIntire

I am applying to Cornell as an AEM major but realistically have my sights set on UVa since I am in state with stats definitely in the range of being accepted. My question is twofold

In terms of education and just learning, which is better UVa McIntire or Cornell AEM, and lets say a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship? Is there even a noticeable difference?

In terms of recruiting, starting salary, and other work related issues, which is better, would I have a better chance at a good job in finance from UVa or Cornell. I know that money and jobs aren't everything but they are something.

“but realistically have my sights set on UVa since I am in state …”
Go with McIntire. We don’t need you. BusinessWeek answers your question quite thoroughly.

“Go with McIntire. We don’t need you.”

I don’t see the reason for this, I was just trying to point out that I know how hard Cornell is to get into and that the stark facts of life are that I have a much better shot at UVa than Cornell. I wasn’t trying to be arrogant or snobbish. Sometimes people on these forums get a little crazy. Anyways thanks for the link, but I wouldn’t mind if anybody who has more experience with either would give me some more direct advice.

That first response was a little too harsh…

I went with AEM over considering McIntire because I was looking for a 4 year program. As far as I know AEM is a little bit better for Wall St. because of the alumni connections and Ivy network, but both schools have great networks.

hahahaha irarchiedw why so harsh? what he is trying to say is that if you’re in-state, might as well go with McIntire since it’s also good anyway.

don’t worry, not all AEM kids are like that. maybe he was a little cranky.

if money is not a problem though, why dont you visit both schools and see where you see yourself?
