Cornell AEM

Hey Guys,

I just got into Cornell AEM as a transfer for the spring and I was wondering if any AEM students could tell me how difficult the program is, is there a lot of grade deflation and are students very cut throat, and also suggest some easy classes at Cornell AEM or offer any advice in general.

Thanks.

Are you a sophomore or junior transfer?

I’m not an AEM student but I’m taking AEM classes…not too difficult, definitely no grade deflation and not cut throat at all. It’s generally considered one of the easiest majors here, and I can’t say I’ve had too much experience with the classes but from the two I’ve taken it seems like that could be true. But many of the more dedicated AEM kids join business fraternities, get internships/jobs, and are competitive extracurricularly

i’m gonna be a sophomore spring transfer. do aem kids get to go out and have fun or do they basically spend their time studying and whatnot?

Yes they have fun.
AEM really is quite an easy major so you don’t need to spend much time studying.
And no, grade deflation is not common; most classes have median grade of a B+.

What classes will you be taking?
AEM3240 (Finance) is said to be one of the most difficult AEM classes.

i’m not sure yet, i haven’t picked out classes. when would a transfer start picking classes?

We definitely go out and party. It’s known to be one of the easier majors at Cornell.
