Hello, I was contacted by a Cornell alumni offering me a ‘meeting’ with her (she’s from CAAAN). The way she worded it made it sound less like an interview and more like a time that I can ask her questions (I understand in normal college interviews you can do this as well but to a lesser extent). So, is the Cornell alumni meeting just the student asking the alumni questions or is it like the standard undergrad interview? Thanks.
Asking the alumni questions. Had mine a month ago, I directed the conversation.
Damn alright, thanks. Did you bring a sheet with questions on it to ask them? (I know some colleges say you can/should do this)
DS was tracked down by an alum to schedule an interview. He doesn’t have questions. Do these interviews have ANY bearing on admissions?
According to [this blog post](https://blogs.cornell.edu/admissions/2014/11/24/alumni-interviews/) from Cornell Admissions, they are informational, not evaluative.
I had mine today. My interviewer just talked about Cornell most of the time, so have a few questions and pay attention to what the interviewer is talking about so you can ask questions about that too.
My interviewer sneaked a few basic questions during our meeting, like stuff about extracurriculars, majors, future aspirations, and my school. Mostly she was the one talking though.
