Cornell Application Status

Hahaha... Nothing AGAIN today...

As they say "It is most likely that you will hear back by June 1st ". I guess that's the terrible truth

I don't want to wait that long.. -____________-

HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION: if you guys got rejected, would you rather know now or wait til after finals?

If I got rejected... Just say it now.. So I can smile happily after today.. No need to check the website like 10 times a day.. No need to think about it.. -sigh-

whats ur major fri3nds? and ur stats if u dont mind :)

good luck man

fri3nds04 I think the reason is that u can also go to cal. hahaha

Major: Computer Engineering..

My stat isn't that wonderful.. So.. :D What's your major blackholezz? Should I assume that I won't be accepted by CORNELL??

@hsinwei89811: Yes.. I need to submit the SIR by June 2nd.. And I have to plan for the orientation before it's full.. So, I can't AND don't want to wait until June 1st..

Hey fri4nd04, don't you have to accept the offer at cal? or you already did?

Sorry, I haven't read, I guess that SIR is for accepting the offer, if you get into Cornell you definitely attend or you still have your doubts?

friend (can i just call you that? apparently extending my finger to the "3" makes it harder lol then again i already typed it... lol)

anyway, no you shouldn't assume! it's kind of nice.. all this positive thinking you know? like, while we dont know our decisions yet, we can choose either a. to be miserable and think we'll get rejected or b. assume we'll get in and imagine ourselves opening that big fat magical mail lol.. the result would be the same if a. we do get in, we'll be ecstatic- and we just wasted 2 years of being miserable and hoping that we'll transfer (well, in my case) and b. if we do get rejected, then might as well enjoy the days we didnt our fate! lol

im a psych major well.. marketing in my current school and extremely miserable because theyre making me take courses like econometricslksdjfdlkfj lol i hate it. i like business and stuff but not that part.. i feel my brain dying!

i wanna focus on people, the arts, society and ****. the brain and ugh evolutionary psych i hope also.. charles darwin my god! ahh freeee meee

btw, the positive thinking thing, i just officially started today lol

@intTrf10: Yeah.. the SIR is the statement for accepting the offer.. and I haven't accepted it yet.. I may.. If Cornell rejects me.. -__- And, I am still hoping that I would get some financial aid from Cornell.. So, I may or may not attend.. I am still not sure.. I just want to know the decision.. If I get accepted, I'll think about the other stuff later.. :)

@blackholezz: Yes, you can call me as "friend".. although I'm so used to typing "fri3nds04" so it's so easy for me :p Anyways, yes.. Positive thinking.. Hahaha.. It's so easy to convince myself for a couple seconds to think positively, but after that.. I would imagine a rejection from Cornell and get worried again.. -___- Oh well.. I'll try to think positively.. :) Hope all of us get in :D

FOLKS! Ok, I emailed AAP yesterday and I kindly asked if they could give me some clues on when the decision would be made.
The person replied today and said that the committee is meeting on MONDAY MAY 12 to "complete their decision". And my application is included in that group. OMGGGGGGGGG
I have to wait till NEXT WEEK to be rejected oh gosh.

Good info, thanks.

I would assume that the engineering admissions office would do the same.. so that means either this week.. or next week.. well, not too bad.. (better than waiting until early June?? :)) Oh well.. I guess they just want to see how patient we are?? Hahaha.. Good luck bitterlemon.. Thanks for the info.. ^^

Honestly, I think not hearing anything so far is a far better sign than hearing something. Obviously there are those who are going to be admitted outright, but I'm sure FAR more are being rejected that were just not aware of. I could be wrong, but I'd take it to mean good things! At least, that's what I keep telling myself!

Hey all,
Accepted today for CAS. I'm a math major.
Best of luck with the process,
Claymangs

Bitterlemon:
What is ur major? I applied CALS and called the admission today. They also said that I have to wait for the committee for the final decision. So I may call them on 15th if I still couldn't get any information by that time. :)

Next week...yeah not bad,

Hey stewartudall, I like how you think, let's believe that everyhting is a good sign!
