Cornell Art vs Michigan Art and Design vs Syracuse VPA

Hi,

First post...son is deciding between Cornell Art BFA, U. Michigan Art and Design (BFA or BA and Fox School of Business accepted) or Syracuse VPA (BFA). His interest is in visual arts, multi-media/new media communications and business (entrepreneurship). He may also have an interest in other areas of design that he has not been exposed to including landscape or industrial design, so that is why he is looking at a comprehensive, larger school in part.

How strong are each of these programs and how well do students do in terms of job placement or grad school after they graduate from these schools? Advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks!

For opinions about the programs themselves, you may want to post your questions in the Visual Arts and Film Majors Forum. It is inside the College Majors Forum: [Visual Arts and Film Majors - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/)

Cornell has some very interesting design programs that are in the College of Human Ecology including http://www.human.cornell.edu/DEA/</a> Given the size and nature of U Michigan, I expect that a similarly wide variety of programs could be found there as well.
