Cornell has Nutrition Sciences as a major in CALS and Human Ecology. What's the difference? I'm interested in studying nutrition, but I don't know which one I should apply to.

It does say on the website that the major for nutrition sciences is jointly hosted by these two colleges, but doesn't it make a difference which one I apply to?

Have you taken a math sat ii?

Yeah, I got a 700. Why does that matter? Doesn’t nutrition have less to do with math?

Human Ecology requires a math subject test that’s why. But, read the missions of the two colleges and see which you like better. If it makes a difference, I think Human Ecology has a better acceptance rate.

Like @FlyingEagle said, Human Ecology requires a Math Sat ii, so that was why I was inquiring about it.

Overall it comes down to what college will best suit your needs, or whatever college you are a better fit in. Just research the mission of each college and scour each of their websites to get a better feel for what they are about.

If you are wondering about acceptance rates, I believe Human Ecology has the higher one, but this can be skewed by a number of factors so idk which one is “easier” to get into.
