environmental science and sustainability excuse me

friend who is a female engineer got likely letter over the weekend.

I should’ve applied to the college of engineering. lol

I got a likely letter in the mail today that notified me that I’ve been nominated as a Tanner Scholar as well. I’m also a nonminority female who applied to Arts and Sciences.

^I got the same letter!

For reference, I’m an Asian male who applied to Arts/Sciences. This is VERY relieving after a rejection from MIT.

No letter. Suppose the email will suffice.

You’ll get it. ^_^

Where are you guys who got the Tanner Dean LL from, if I may ask? I didn’t get the previous LL (non-URM, male) and am holding my breath for this one, even though that’s probably foolish of me…

Anyone get a likely in CALS for Animal Science??

Got my likely today! female urm in achitecture, arts, and planning! c:

Thank you lilmelon for making me feel better! Best of luck to you!

a likely is just known to be a an early acceptance. There’s no way to be rejected since these were the strongest ones picked out first. They are probably going through the second time and then the same process but no likely after the first round.

^^i agree with what lilmelonred said. i talked to my counselor today about it because i didn’t want to get my hopes too high for nothing. she said that likelies are sent out (usually from the ivies) to people who they think will be accepted to numerous other competing schools (i.e. princeton, columbia, dartmouth etc). so they want to get to these people first to psychological manipulate them into choosing their school basically. MANY MANY MANY people are accepted without ever receiving a likely letter. from previous years, it seems to me that cornell usually sends out the likelies to girls in engineering.

@lilmelonred @lucya01995 thank you for the clarification… this makes me feel so much better and more optimistic

^the girls in engineering theory seems correct from my experience. I only know 2 people who got likely letters at my school this year… one was a female engineer and the other was a legacy.

I’m not a legacy, applied to Arts/Sciences (physics/astronomy), Asian and a male. Still can’t believe I got this Tanner Dean LL… for reference, I got it on the 18th and I live in Maryland.

did anyone get a LL from CALS?

^This was asked and answered a few days ago. Just take a look. As far as I remember, no one!
