<p>You have to understand that, if all likelies were to be sent out to all accepted students, then this would defeat the purpose of releasing the decisions on the 28th! This is why only the ones they feel really really qualify should get likelies.</p>
<p>I’m an Ithacan, and I think Cornell accepted close to 50 kids last year from my class at Ithaca High School. I got rejected RD, and I found out a week ahead of the 3/28 date since my mother works at Cornell; they apparently send out ‘unlikely’ (and maybe likely?) letters to Cornell employees as a ‘courtesy’. Regardless, I was crushed, but most people will find going to their second choice school can be eye-opening. I’m applying to transfer to ILR for this fall, and I’m much better prepared. <p>Probably going to be the longest week ever. I thought this was bad the first time around in December( i was deferred) . definitely wrong because this time its final, no second chances.</p>

<p>I called the admissions office and if you got your instructions email on an odd minute you are from the rejected list. It’s sorted by an algorithm they use, apparently. Thankfully mine came at 9:52.</p>

<p>Btw, I’m on an odd minute for all my Ivy reminders. Expecting straight rejections, so who knows. (there is a 50/50 chance of it being on an odd number though).</p>
