@jmayerlover

Lee H. Melvin

Cornell University

@CollegiateTib: thank you so much! The reason I asked is because one of my Facebook friends posted an “acceptance” letter but I’ve been told it’s a fake. I just wanted to verify for myself LOL
Hers looks very different from that, I can assure you. How sad.

On a d/f note, does anyone know the work load of a student in CALS? I hear its pretty light, if so I made the right decision applying there.

@jmayerlover
That was the acceptance sent via email. Maybe the actual letter looks different. :/

We’re waiting on the FinAid pkg too. Apparently they needed us to submit some tax info electronically through the Cornell website instead of just through iDoc, so if you haven’t heard anything from them you might double-check with their office. So many posts of insufficient aid have me a little worried…

@country20 yes there is a fb group for the class of 2017 :)

My Son accepted ILR about 3 weeks ago-
SAT 2200, SATII 720/710/770 CR<M<W
GPA 93/101, 6/399 top 2%
9 APs
Great ECs, Letters and Some community service

I was wondering if anyone has some info on the Rawlings Scholar Program
and actual experience in how to connect with a professor - how
many hour are required per week- year to year
expectations on research project - or intesesting projects
people are working on. Thanks,

*interesting

I always said I would make sure to post in these decision threads when I got my notifications because I always perused these boards when I was doing my own applications. To any high school juniors thinking about college, I just have a bit of advice. Don’t apply to more than 10 schools, try less if you could. I know what it feels like to be that overachiever, wanting to “keep your options open,” but seriously – the essays will pile up, the fees will pile up, and god help you when every school wants a seperate financial aid form on top of the FAFSA and CSS. Apply to your favorites, the practical, and a few reaches because thats what its all about hahah. Practice SAT tests too, a little bit of work can skyrocket you into a whole new echelon of schools and merit money.
I was really hoping and thought I would get in, but I guess things are just getting more competitive by the year in college admissions. Maybe grad school

Did anyone else not get a financial aid package yet?

Yeah, I didn’t get mine yet either. Apparently I still had some documents missing. Does anyone know if I am disadvantaged to getting a good fin. aid package because I am pretty late in turning in all my stuff?

I thought we must be the only ones waiting on our fin aid package - it’s assuring to see others haven’t either. We also had to send in other forms (actual tax forms for this year) after we thought we’d have a pkg sent. We had an odd fin situation so I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised. This is more than nerve racking… My daughter is visiting there right now…

Finally paid enrollment deposit :).

I have called about the financial aid package. As long as your to-do list is complete, you should be notified 7-10 days after you completed it. If it’s more than that, you should call. They are lovely to talk to.
