Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

Thank You!

i never got an interview its not a big deal

Where you live ?

@yliuxin Florida.

I feel like the closer it gets to decisions, the worst my senioritis gets

It has been so wonderful to talk to you all over the past weeks/months and I am so sad it will all be over in just two days…

:((

I emailed several current students from CALS through the ambassador network, did an alumni interview with an alumni in my area, and had an email directly from one of the Deans of CALS. Well, several emails. I think they really liked my application, but they indirectly told me to change my major so I had a better chance. They told my guidance councaler that the Bio-Engineering major wasn’t a good fit for me but they loved my application so they were planning on differing me. Then, she suggested I change majors to Biology and Society and write a new essay showing how my ECs matched that interest very specifically. I did that, and my essay was really good so I honestly thing the worst thing that could happen to me is being deferred. Part of me wants to know now, just yes or no, not another month of waiting. I’m really hoping and believing I got accepted but worst case I got differed I think.

I’m so glad that there are threads like this. I really feel like my stress has decreased SOO much because of all the supportive people here. Thanks everybody! :slight_smile:

How can I not get a interview ? I live in New Jersey!!

As a current Cornellian following this thread. I just want to wish you all luck this Thursday, and to remind you to relax. For those who don’t get in, don’t worry you will flourish wherever you end up. For those who get in, congrats because in approximately 367 days you will be dealing with a whole new type of stress and anxiety that’s 100 times worse than this. It’s name: final exams.

@yliuxin you didn’t get an interview because there probably wasn’t a cornell alumni in CAAAN near you

@yliuxin hey same state ~O)

Do guidance counselor even tell u these things… Mine has never talked to me about anytning related to Cornell so could she have just sent in stuff without letting me know

I’ve asked mine but they haven’t contacted her. No need to for me… my 1Q grades were on my transcript and interviews don’t go through the guidance counselors

@Islandmg Whoa…you got a personal email from Cornell? That’s pretty cool.

@Islandmg did the dean of cals email u or did u email them? I wished someone gave me a second chance and let me know if I should change my major lol

lmfaoooooo hi yuxin. it’s me.

@yliuxin also that’s weird cause there is an alumni near us

@niceplanet They have to be a CAAAN member to be authorized for interviews
