Our CSS has our final tax info, for us but not for our son. If I use IDOC to upload his W2 and tax return, do I also need to update the CSS, which I’m told means writing it out and mailing it in?
@CAMidwestMom I just called them because I freaked out about that lol. They said we don’t need to update the CSS because the IDOC will be used to verify what was given on the CSS.
I never got an email from IDOC, but the deadline is coming up. What do I do? CollegeBoard won’t let me log in.
I’ve been using the IDOC for my senior at Cornell for the past 4 years so maybe I can be of a little help. First of all the Cornell financial aid office staff is VERY helpful so don’t be afraid to call them if you get stuck. Cornell will correct/adjust your financial info to match your IRS filed returns so be as accurate as possible when estimating your fafsa and css so that your estimated financial award won’t change too much later and shock you.
@hlsidle You only get an email from IDOC after you have already filed a fasfa or css for the new year. If you are unable to login to your child’s college board account then try to reset the password/user id (ask your son/daughter if they know the login info first because our kids sometimes change it without telling us). Worst case you can call college board for help but I’ve always had success with resetting the login info via email.
Isn’t CALS also rolling
@CCSenioritis and hello from the Ed thread if u remember me!!!
I think, finally, maybe, really, I have all of the IDOC stuff submitted. When I logged on today, most docs had been processed, but there was a new thing that I hadn’t seen before. Some sort of verification that I could fill out online and then print it out to be signed. Phew, that was a lot of work.
I dont have an IDOC id. Neither do i have a SSN and that is because im an international applicant. What do i need to do except submitting the CSS profile. please help.
@CAMidwestMom please help.
@pk2608 I would try to call, or if not, email Cornell Fin Aid office. When did you file the CSS? That is what generates the IDOC request, but I am not sure what would be different for an international applicant. Do you have any personal correspondence from Cornell? For example, my son got a letter from an admissions person who works with students from diverse backgrounds. She is also a regular admissions staff person. I wrote an email to her directly when I was confused by this whole IDOC process, which is totally new to me. She wrote back within the same day both times. Good luck.
I spent several hours gathering and printing and signing and scanning things for IDOC last night. Applying for financial aid has been like a part-time job.
It has been a full time job for me since last couple of days:-). If you have a business, this effort simply gets worse.
My dad said he won’t have all his 2015 tax docs until Feb 16? X_X Am I supposed to send them 2014 until he’s done with this years?
@CAMidwestMom I submitted the css on the 1st of Feb. I don’t really have any personal correspondence yet. I’m very tensed as I have my eyes on the Tata scholarship. Pleas help. Please pm me if you’re comfortable
I’m done with all the financial stuff. Now I have to submit documentation to all 12 schools I applied to in order to prove that I am actually an independent student. Hoping to finish everything this weekend.
So my school just notified me that Cornell requested my AP Scores. Sent them in yesterday.
What does this mean? Does it even mean anything?
they requested your AP scores? that’s super odd
That does ;// maybe grades didn’t match the AP scores?
The grades not matching AP scores is an interesting possibility. I’ve taken 5 classes so far and received four fives and a four. Fives in APCS (A in class), AB Calc (A-), APUSH (A) and Chemistry (B-). Four in AP Bio (B+). AP Chem kind of sticks out there.
Does anyone know where I can find admission statistics for the individual colleges of Cornell?
