Cornell, Dartmouth, and others Chances?

What chance do I have at schools like Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, maybe brown?
and just for the heck of it HYPS and MIT?

SAT: like 2090 superscored.
1st: 800W 600M 640R
2nd: 650M 590R 670W (I went down because I was extremely sick when I took it, but am definitely retaking this October and have been studying and am pretty sure I can get 2200)

SAT Chem: 710
US History: 620 (i think i shouldn't send this/maybe retake)

ACT: will also take in October.

Chance me and I'll chance back

P.S: Planning to apply early decision to Cornell (or at least one of those schools to up my chances), but I definitely need FA because parents income falls below 40,000 a year, is that a bad idea?
I'm a white female that immigrated from Russia.

lmao! I love how your lowest grades are gym!

Anyway,

to be honest your SAT scores are a bit too low for these schools and your EC’s are about alright, but I think you could possibly get into cornell ED if you apply…

If interested in applying ED to Cornell you should research which of their 7 colleges you would most likely apply to. Attend an informational session at that college in which they will give you insight into what they are looking for in your essays & a chance for you to make a good first impression. Got to get your SAT score up, perhaps take the ACT also?

I should also mention that I was in astronomy and anime club I guess.
and if i do take the ACT I won’t get my scores in time to submit them before the nov 1 deadline.

And I’d apply to ALS as primary and A&S as secondary

lesley what are u talking about? she has a 2160 sat, which is above or on par with cornell, dartmouth, brown and duke

she or he. my bad

your SAT is weird… unlikely compared to other CC chance threads. You see Cornell doesn’t consider writing. Dude a 200 point increase is highly unlikely after 2nd try :P. I find it funny when people predict 200 point increases just like that.

Also, you went down on your 2nd try which doesn’t look good either.

Sorry if I came of as a bit nasty but i’m being truthful.

“lesley what are u talking about? she has a 2160 sat, which is above or on par with cornell, dartmouth, brown and duke”

…it is a 2090, take out the writing and it is a 1290 which is below the 25th percentile for all of these schools.

if i want to do an economics or business scoure is math sl enough for ib applicants…

your SAT is horrendous no offense

"your SAT is horrendous no offense '

…your scores are not bad considering that you are a rising Junior. My D’s scores were similair going into Junior year, she raised her CR + M score by 60 pts. & was admitted. Keep working hard, you have a chance.

How can he be rising junior if he has listed his GPA for 11th ?!

I think he is “estimating” this years grades…always a dangerous thing. Under 11th grade courses it says “I am currently taking” and for senrior schedule it says “next year” so I assume he’s a Junior?

noragon- Timed, half-hearted practice tests tell me that I’ll have quite a good point increase.
I took those two tests almost a year ago.
and for the second one I was monstrously sick.

Why did you sit it then lol. Now you have the blemish of a 590 on your permanent record

“Why did you sit it then lol. Now you have the blemish of a 590 on your permanent record”

…“blemish”? colleges superscore & don’t really care how you get to the highest score. I’ve read on this forum numerous times about “looking bad if you take the SAT more than twice”, “low AP scores are going to kill your chances”, etc. If a college (especially Cornell) really likes every other part of your application they are looking for a way to admit you, not keep you out…this is why they “superscore”.

noragon- well I increased my math score by 50 points so It didn’t completely go to waste
plus on the common application they don’t even have the space to report all scores from different tests. just your highest and the dates taken

True super scoring would help me too ^^. Good luck with your final attempt.

Thank you!
