cornell decision email: wrong submitted date?

i very much doubt any info would be given from an esteemed member of the committee by asking even if it was his grandson id just be like "wait another day and you'll find out"

LOL! This is hilarious. I can't wait to find out tomorrow.. just to see if any of these theories end up being right. I'll add to the insanity:

I applied CALS.. time 2:44.. chances: I think likely. great ecs and 2300/2400 sat. idk? could go either way i guess.

never said that the "wl/accepted/rejected" theory is flawless. I'm just saying that if (that's a HUGE if) these time correlate with admission decision, then I think that is the order in which they correlate. One kid, who fell in the middel time range, said an adcom told him GT was worst-case scenario and most of the likelies have fallen in the middle time range.

you know what: the only theory that has survived these 30+ pages of critical analysis is that it is completely random. OEM should be f'n likely!

We definitely need more people with likely letters who are not from engineering (we already know that their times fell in the 1 range).
But I guess they are not on because they know they got in.
And we are all on, furiously trying to figure this out because we want to get in badly but we aren't sure. :(

Hahaha yeah I am, I got denied CMU last nite and so far I just have Boston University and my state school, Rutgers.

"said an adcom told him GT was worst-case scenario"

what is GT?

My submission time was 2 hrs before the deadline, and I got 2:44. Regardless, I think this theory has failed.

GT is guaranteed transfer. Basically it means that you weren't accepted to cornell, but if you go to any other college of your choice, you can transfar to cornell after one year and are guaranteed a spot.

GT= Granny Tranny?

Edit: nevermind.

i'm pretty sure there is something to this theory.

but like i said before, you can't assume the groups are strictly "12, 1 and 2". I think the computers did upload people in some order, but they were most definitely not by hour. The cutoff between one group and another could be at some random minute, 1:12 for instance.

every time I refresh theres like 10 more posts.. I think it's random, but trying to figure it out is helping me pass the time haha

1:28 pm

International Student No F/A - Initials A.S

College Arts/ Sciences

Accepted NYU Stern, Northwestern, Swarthmore, Bowdoin, Grinnell, U. of Michigan, McGill. Waitlisted Duke.

The question would have to be, how can we look at this. Was the whole process automated which would allow us to make assumptions based on the times themselves, or if it wasnt automated, maybe it was like a guy dragging and dropping some files, maybe pausing inbeetween, maybe looking for some or verifying some, then we can only use the number of applicants who got a specific time. I cant imagine there is a huge amount of data to copy, even if they are throwing up info for 30,000 students, it shouldnt take them more then 25, 30 minutes, but there are times spanning well over two hours, I will have to say it was not automated.

This would mean there are much more sections then we origonally thought. For instance, they could have copied over an entire group of people in 12:26

wow this thread is long. by the time we figure this out, we'll already know if we got in or not Lol

1:28 pm, ILR, maybe: accepted at NYU (w/ scholarship), McGill, stony brook (scholarship and honors), fordham (scholarhip and honors), but rejected from G-town.

I'm just surprised that I'm the only one who applied for philosophy. I wish there was someone else who applied for philosophy, then I could compare times.

1:28 pm seems to be a winner

Anyone else agree?

i agree with 1:28

Just to further disprove the idea that it's by actual submitted date, I submitted my application around Christmas, I can't remember the exact date, and my time is 1:28.

Hope this WL/Accept/Reject theory is right!
