Cornell decisions

long time ago, i think a week ago or so.....i wasnt rejected by CAS. I applied to Mechanical engineering. damn. they rejected me. I thought it would be an easy shot. anyways, stupid me to think so. and also, i requested them to release my decsion soon.

Ah, yes, the useless knowledge. Barnes and Noble is the answer... I read a lot. Some stuff I found online...
I switched from Diff Eq to slightly more advanced honors math class, since my school does not offer the proof based version for math majors. Also, I am more into pure math and I really wanted to enjoy the courses this semester. In Diff Equ I felt like I was in a math course for mathematically challenged physics majors.

military-a secretary offered to email the adcom to make a decision on my app soon when i told her i needed to reply to other schools by may 1 after she said cornell will be releasing through may 31. then i was rejected from CAS...do you think that hurt us? is that similar to what you did?

haha...barnes and noble...so there it is...i hope u didnt copy-paste the info. else u'ld be accused of plagiarism. and expelled frm CC.

I am thinking about expelling myself.
It's all speculation. Probably all my conclusions are wrong. But Stanford does regect 40% of students while going through applications at an incredible rate. How reassuring.

may be, may be not.

i am an intl kid. so it is a bit tougher for me to gain admission as a transfer. however, my credentials were not so bad. anyways, to answer ur question, requesting an early decision might prompt the adcoms to reject u (my guess)..they might think
"so there is another school for which this kid is asking us an early reply, hmmm...so this kid is not strictly interested in our school..hmm...he might go to another school....so lets make it easy...lets say him sorry"

and this to marinibluex: Dif. Eq is a kool class...what math class are u taking?

i cant believe CAS rejected that kid from Rice with a 4.00 .

ugh, i probably screwed myself over by allowing the secretary to do that... it was completely unintentional!!

When do they release another batch? Midnight? If they don't, you're not going to hear till monday night.

neither was I. Forget it now. Which school do u go to? Do u have real compelling reasons to transfer? Please answer as a fren, honestly. Many ppl just apply coz they are attracted by big names, including me. I really dont have to transfer. Cornell ***** found that. What abt u?

i go to rice and i want to transfer because i want a bigger school with a stronger offerings in the humanities...if you're not an engineer at rice, you're worthless. where are you now, military?

i know rice has a fantastic engineering program. Thats my point. If u try to transfer from Rice engineering to Cornell engeering, u are 95% rejected. I dont know how is Rice humanities program but I am pretty confident it is not so bad.
I am at Harvey Mudd. I am doing general engineering, wanted to switch to mechanical and aerospace at Cornell, and is just limited to wanting. Please dont ask me where HM is? I find a lot of ppl dont know abt HM. Its a nice place to be in anyways. I applied to Duke and Cornell. Lets see what Duke has to say...lolz...4% chances....but who cares, HM also teaches me to be optimistic.

HM is in california, right? rice humanities doesnt have as many course offerings as other schools, which feels very limiting. is HM part of the claremont colleges or is it separate? whatevs, i'm over not getting into cornell because i got into uchicago today and i'd rather go there anyway

congrats dude, U. Chicago is a grt8 school. Enjoy.
(ps: Friday night is still not over)

congrats grapes! i'm happy for ya!

for some reason, i feel like eating some grapes right now. the purple ones..

those are my fav

where did u apply to besides U. chicago and CAS?

wesleyan northwestern upenn brown georgetown

what did Brown say? Personally I think Brown is the place to be. They dont go by numbers so it must be a very kool community. They say in their website that they prefer unique individuals rather than just stellar grades. So now, how are u unique? If you conveyed this message clearly, then u might get into Brown.
good-luck

I still maintain that the University of Chicago is better than all of the above.
