Cornell Diversity Weekend ??Not URM??

I received this invitation the other day:

Visiting Cornell during Diversity Hosting will give you the opportunity to experience life as a Cornell student. We will provide limited transportation, housing, meals, and a rich array of opportunities to attend classes, meet with faculty, and converse with current Cornell students about their experiences.
This special invitation is extended to you because of your strong academic and personal record and because you will be admitted to Cornell University’s Class of 2016. If you are interested in joining us or would like more information about Diversity Hosting, visit: diversityhosting.admissions.cornell.edu

I understand that this invitation was meant for accepted URM students. I'm Caucasion... should I go anyway?

if theyre paying for you to visit Cornell…why not? caucasians (all races) contribute to the make up of diversity. enjoy ithaca in the spring!

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Anyone else out there that might not identify themselves as URM going to this diversity weekend?

Are you applying as an engineer and are a female? I think they sent them out to female engineers as well since they’re a rarity.

Congrats! I was emailed the same letter on wednesday, but I am african-american. Applied to CAS  Who cares if you’re white, if you got the letter, you should go! I’ve heard you only have to pay a registration fee of about $40 and Cornell covers everything else. It’s pretty hard not to turn down such a good offer like that! :D

bump bump bump
